Advertising policy

Where ads appear, what we will and will not run, and how ads are separated from editorial content.

Where advertising appears

If and when this site displays advertising, it appears in clearly defined placements: below the introductory section of an article, within longer articles at natural breaks, and in the sidebar. Ads never appear in place of editorial content, inside comparison tables, or in ways that could be mistaken for our recommendations.

What we will not accept

  • Ads for products we have editorially criticized or flagged as unsafe.
  • Ads for formula marketed in violation of WHO guidance (where ads are programmatically served, we exclude these categories where tools allow).
  • Intrusive formats: full-screen interstitials on first visit, auto-playing audio, pop-ups that block content on mobile.
  • Anything deceptive, adult, or unsafe for a family audience.

Editorial independence

Advertisers have no influence over editorial content. Ad placement is decided by our ad layout, not by our editorial team, and editorial decisions are never made to accommodate an advertiser.

AdSense and programmatic advertising

This site may use Google AdSense for programmatic advertising. When enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ads Settings.

Affiliate links vs. advertising

Affiliate links (which earn us a commission when you purchase) are distinct from paid advertising (which brands pay for placement). Both are disclosed. Read our affiliate disclosure →
